The highest grade among the Single Estate series, Vignoble A. Couillaud, produced in 1978 from a 5-hectare estate in the heart of the Petite Champagne region. Its chalky soil allows the grapes to ripen properly and develop their full aroma potential, using carbon-fired distillation and hand-picking grapes. A well-structured cognac with a bright amber colour. The overall quality is perfectly balanced and intriguing: candied orange peel with subtle beeswax and walnut aromas, slightly spicy on the palate, followed by a strong and long-lasting aroma of blackcurrant leaves. Vibrant and dark berry flavor in the middle, a solid structure and a good balance of thick fruit, a wonderful combination of strong punch and sweet taste, which is a classic style of Martell eaux-de-vie.
Aroma: Fruity with black currant, candied orange peel with subtle beeswax and walnut aromas
Palate: Powerful and well-structured aroma of intense blackcurrant leaves
Aftertaste: bright and long
